Privacy Policy for Prononce AI

1. Who we are

Prononce AI is a language learning application that provides AI pronunciation coaching, reading practice, voice conversations, vocabulary review, and feedback reports. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@prononce.tech.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use Prononce AI, we may collect or process the following data:

• Account information such as email address, display name, login identifiers, and authentication records.
• Learning profile information such as native language, target language, level, goals, and learning domain.
• Audio recordings, speech activity, transcripts, pronunciation attempts, reading passages, conversation turns, and feedback reports created when you choose to practice.
• Practice history such as reviewed words, spaced repetition state, challenge results, credits balance, subscription status, and purchase history.
• Device and service data such as app version, diagnostics, crash or error logs, push notification tokens, and security events.
• Payment metadata from payment providers, such as checkout status, plan, receipts, and transaction identifiers. Prononce AI does not store full card numbers.

3. How we use data

• Provide reading practice, voice conversations, pronunciation feedback, translations, vocabulary cards, and spaced repetition.
• Generate AI feedback and audio only for features the learner chooses to use.
• Manage accounts, subscriptions, credits, reminders, support requests, security, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
• Improve product quality through aggregated diagnostics and operational metrics.

4. Audio, microphone, and AI processing

Prononce AI accesses the microphone only when you start a recording, voice conversation, audio chat, or pronunciation challenge. Audio may be uploaded to our servers and processed by AI service providers to create transcripts, speech output, pronunciation analysis, translations, and coaching feedback. You can stop a recording or voice session from inside the app.

5. How we share data

We do not sell personal or sensitive user data. We may share data with the following categories of recipients:

• Cloud hosting, database, storage, cache, monitoring, and email service providers.
• AI processing providers that process text, audio, transcripts, and learning context to generate coaching responses, speech, translations, or pronunciation feedback.
• Payment processors and app store platforms that manage subscriptions, checkout, receipts, and fraud prevention.
• Push notification providers that deliver reminders and feedback-ready alerts.
• Authorities, courts, or other parties when disclosure is required by law, security, fraud prevention, or protection of rights.

6. Security

We use HTTPS in transit, access controls, authentication, rate limits, and operational safeguards designed to protect user data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to limit access to data to the systems and people who need it to operate Prononce AI.

7. Retention and deletion

You choose a raw-audio retention period between 7 and 90 days in the app. Raw conversation turns, reading recordings, word attempts, and pronunciation-analysis audio are deleted automatically when that period expires. Deleting raw audio does not delete the derived transcript, pronunciation scores, vocabulary state, or coaching feedback, so your learning history can remain useful without retaining the original recording.

Account, subscription, credit, fraud-prevention, and security records are retained only as long as needed for the service and applicable legal obligations. You can change the audio period in Profile > Privacy, or request deletion of your account and associated personal data from our account deletion page. A temporary legal hold may pause deletion only when required to preserve records for a legal obligation or dispute.

8. Your choices

You can choose whether to grant microphone and notification permissions. You can also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance where available under applicable law.

9. Children

Prononce AI is not intended for children under 13 or for users below the minimum age required by local law without appropriate consent. If you believe a child provided personal data without proper consent, contact us so we can review and delete the data where required.

10. International transfers

Prononce AI and its service providers may process data in countries other than your country of residence. We use appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Prononce AI evolves. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
